Jeannie Wallace, PhD., M.F.T.
I believe that a therapist should offer support, understanding and guidance. Through my years as a therapist, I have developed an expertise working with couples. Many different issues can cause distress and misunderstanding in relationships. I am sensitive to these issues and interactive in my approach. I will help you heal from the pain that troubled relationships may cause, without blame or arguments, but with honesty, sensitivity and understanding.
Adult Children of Alcoholics frequently share some common characteristics, which I am often asked how I can recognize. I understand that for many individuals it is a relief when they do not need to keep the secret any longer. I offer sensitivity and knowledge that can help you overcome some of the problems that result if you were raised in an alcoholic system. If you have suffered from substance abuse and its tremendous impact and need guidance during your recovery, I can help you. I have a Certificate in Addiction Studies and offer a guide for living a more satisfying life.
I have also developed a specialty in working with individuals or families of those with Bipolar Disorder. The constant turmoil, verbal or physical abuse and confusion can feel overwhelming. You may feel powerless and alone. I believe that support and education can greatly reduce some of the stress and anxiety. I can help through my personal experience and training. As a co-founder of Community Psychological Services, I offer a wide range of experience and expertise and look forward to working with you.
